Beeswax Production by Country
Kenya ranked fifth in 2023 and 2024 after increasing its production substantially since 2020, adding 828.8 tonnes in 2024 and recording the largest production increase in both comparison periods. The figures below reproduce FAO Crops and Livestock Products records for item Beeswax, 2020-2024, reporting production quantity in tonnes. The table lists 43 countries, all of which reported a 2024 quantity, and the 2024 annual listed total is 64,538 tonnes. The 2024 country list runs from the largest listed quantity to the smallest.
India was the largest listed beeswax producer in 2024, with 24,521 tonnes, followed by Ethiopia with 5,934 tonnes and Argentina with 5,212 tonnes. The 43 countries in the dataset reported a combined listed production of 64,538 tonnes in 2024. India accounted for 38.0 percent of that total, while Kenya ranked fifth with 4,041 tonnes.
India produced 4.13 times as much as Ethiopia: 24,521 tonnes against 5,934, while Argentina ranks third with 5,212 tonnes, 722 tonnes behind Ethiopia. The top two hold 47.2 percent of the listed total, with third and fourth at 5,212 and 4,067 tonnes respectively. India was the largest beeswax producer in the 2024 listed data with 24,521 tonnes, followed by Ethiopia with 5,934 tonnes and Argentina with 5,212 tonnes. South Korea ranked fourth with 4,067 tonnes. India holds 38.0 percent of the listed 2024 total. The top three together hold 55.3 percent of the 64,538-tonne listed total. From 2023 to 2024 the common reporter universe (43 countries with data in both years) moved from 64,293 tonnes to 64,538 tonnes, a change of 245 tonnes (0.4 percent). The totals listed for each year were 64,293 tonnes (43 reporters) and 64,538 tonnes (43 reporters); no country exited and no new reporter joined. Kenya added 828.8 tonnes (up 25.8 percent), while Türkiye fell 655 tonnes (down 16.5 percent) and Mexico 240 tonnes (down 17.6 percent). Between 2020 and 2024, the common reporter universe (43 countries with data in both years) rose from 61,912 tonnes to 64,538 tonnes, a change of 2,626 tonnes (4.2 percent). The totals listed for each year were 61,912 tonnes (43 reporters) and 64,538 tonnes (43 reporters); no reporter present in 2020 is absent in 2024, while no new reporters joined. Kenya added 2,324 tonnes (up 135.4 percent), while India added 515.18 tonnes (up 2.1 percent) and Türkiye fell 449 tonnes (down 11.9 percent). Percentage changes use the corresponding value in the earlier year as the base. Yearly totals sum FAO Crops and Livestock Products production quantity (Element 5510) for item Beeswax, 2020-2024. For beeswax production, quantities below 1,000 tonnes retain two decimals and larger quantities are shown as whole tonnes. The 2024 beeswax production ranking and shares use 2024 listed quantities. In the beeswax production data, zero means a reported nil or negligible flow; an empty cell means no quantity was reported. For beeswax production changes, only countries with quantities in both endpoint years enter the arithmetic. Production quantities are reported to FAO by national statistical sources.

Methodology
Frequently Asked Questions
Which country increased beeswax production the most?
Kenya recorded the largest increase among the 43 countries in both comparison periods, adding about 829 tonnes from 2023 to 2024 and about 2,325 tonnes from 2020 to 2024.
Did the reporter set change at all?
No. The same 43 countries reported in 2020, 2023 and 2024, so both change universes equal the reporter set and the listed totals move only on reported quantities.
How much did Uganda's beeswax production decline since 2020?
Uganda's production decreased from 920 tonnes in 2020 to 613.91 tonnes in 2024, a decline of 306.09 tonnes, or 33.3 percent.
