Industrial diamond production by country shows how much natural industrial diamond is produced in each country, measured in million carats. The figures refer to mine production of natural industrial diamonds (stones and bort/grit, gold-bearing and other industrial grades as reported), in line with the underlying sources; synthetic diamonds are reported separately and are not included here. The statistics are based directly on the USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries 2026. The table covers 6 countries with individual 2024 and 2025 estimates, which produced a combined 37 million carats in 2025; together with the "Other countries" value of 1 million carats, this total matches the reported World total of 38 million carats.

Largest Industrial Diamond-Producing Countries in 2025

Russia produced the most natural industrial diamond in 2025 with 16 million carats. DR Congo ranked second with 7, followed by Botswana (5), Zimbabwe (5), South Africa (3), and Angola (1).

Russia alone accounted for about 42 percent of the World total in 2025, and Russia and DR Congo together for about 61 percent; the top four countries accounted for about 87 percent. Russia's output was about 2.3 times that of DR Congo. Four countries produced at least 5 million carats in 2025.

Industrial Diamond Production Around the World

In Europe, Russia (16) is the only listed producer. In Africa, DR Congo (7) leads, ahead of Botswana (5), Zimbabwe (5), South Africa (3), and Angola (1). The USGS does not list any producer individually from the Americas or Oceania. The United States has no reported value, while remaining production is grouped under "Other countries" (1 million carats).

No listed country changed its value: Russia (16), DR Congo (7), Botswana (5), Zimbabwe (5), South Africa (3), and Angola (1) all held their levels in both years. The World total remained at 38 million carats.

Methodology

The statistics are based on the USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries 2026. Values refer to mine production of natural industrial diamonds, in million carats, and 2025 figures are preliminary estimates from the source. The source reports synthetic diamond production separately, and it is not included here. The source lists the United States with no reported value, and reports the remaining producers as "Other countries"; the sum of the individually listed countries plus that value equals the reported World total in both years. In the table, a zero reflects no production, while an empty cell means that no value was reported.
