India leads global dry beans production with 6.5 million tonnes projected for 2025, serving massive domestic demand for dal and other legume dishes. Brazil emerges as the third-largest producer with 2.9 million tonnes, maintaining stable output for domestic consumption of black beans and other varieties. Argentina shows impressive growth reaching 821,568 tonnes, up from 473,389 in 2018. Mexico produces 824,606 tonnes despite volatility, serving both domestic markets and exports. Nicaragua maintains 171,792 tonnes, while Honduras reaches 171,452 tonnes.

🌍 African Production Growth

Tanzania demonstrates strong expansion reaching 1.58 million tonnes, up from 1.1 million in 2018. Uganda shows remarkable growth to 887,068 tonnes despite year-to-year volatility. Kenya produces 903,364 tonnes, more than doubling from recent lows. Burundi reaches 863,640 tonnes, while Rwanda maintains 463,595 tonnes. Mozambique shows impressive growth to 611,020 tonnes.

The United States maintains strong production at 1.1 million tonnes, serving both domestic consumption and export markets for navy beans, pinto beans, and other varieties. Canada produces 331,408 tonnes, focusing on high-quality beans for export. Both countries employ mechanized farming and advanced breeding programs for disease resistance and yield improvement.

Ukraine faces dramatic decline from 71,190 tonnes in 2018 to just 21,477 projected for 2025, reflecting conflict impacts. Iraq production collapses from 5,588 to just 635 tonnes. Paraguay shows sharp decline from 69,776 to 18,600 tonnes. South Africa drops from 69,360 to 51,217 tonnes. These declines reflect various challenges including climate stress, economic factors, and conflict.
