Boron production by country measures how much boron each country produces, expressed in thousand metric tons. The figures follow the definitions used in the underlying sources. The statistics are based on USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries 2026. The table below lists 8 countries, each reporting by product type, with 2024 and 2025 data available for all 8. The reported production values totaled 3,195 thousand metric tons in 2024 and 2,920 in 2025, a decline of about 9 percent over the year, though these figures reflect different product types across countries and are not directly comparable. The countries are grouped by product: ulexite (Bolivia, Chile), crude ore and crude borates (Argentina, Peru), boric oxide equivalent (China), compounds (Germany), datolite ore (Russia), and refined borates (Turkey). The United States is not shown in the table because its production figures are withheld to avoid disclosing company proprietary data, and a World total cannot be calculated because production and reserves are not reported in a consistent manner by all countries. Largest Changes in Boron Production, 2024–2025
Bolivia recorded the largest increase, rising from 230 thousand metric tons in 2024 to 380 in 2025 (up 150). Peru rose from 190 to 220 (up 30), China from 210 to 230 (up 20), and Argentina from 160 to 170 (up 10).
Türkiye recorded the largest decline, falling from 1,800 thousand metric tons in 2024 to 1,500 in 2025 (down 300). Chile fell from 470 to 300 (down 170), Germany from 45 to 40 (down 5), and Russia from 90 to 80 (down 10).
Türkiye's 2025 figure of 1,500 thousand metric tons is lower than its 2024 figure of 1,800, and both are below the 2,500 measured in 2023 in the earlier release. Bolivia's rise is striking, from 230 to 380 thousand metric tons, an increase of about 65 percent in one year, from a much smaller base than Türkiye. Chile's decline from 470 to 300 is also notable, a 36 percent fall.
