This page follows the SUA item labelled Mustard seed oil, crude and counts only its rows; World, regional and aggregate rows are not in the table. The annual listed supply total sums the countries with a 2023 value. Food here means supply available for people to eat in the reference year, not amounts eaten. For mustard seed oil, crude, tonnage follows element 5141 and daily grams follow element 665 across 2019 to 2023. A change is measured from the earlier year; none is stated from a zero base. Only countries present in both compared years enter a change. A reported zero is not a blank, and blanks never stand in for zeros. The file holds 49 countries after removing World, regional and aggregate rows; 46 carry 2023 values. Saudi Arabia and Oman falling to zero offset much of Russia's increase in the latest year. The numbers describe food available for human consumption. Source: FAO FAOSTAT, compiled by StatsGeo.Russia Doubles as Two Gulf States Exit

Frequently Asked Questions
Who led crude mustard oil supply?
Nepal, with 88,372 tonnes in 2023, or 83.6 percent of the listed total, 6.91 times second-placed Russia at 12,780 tonnes in a 46-country table.
How did Russia double?
Russia rose from 6,291 tonnes in 2022 to 12,780 in 2023, a gain of 6,489 tonnes or 103.1 percent, the largest gain in the file, and has nearly tripled since 2019.
Which countries fell to zero?
Saudi Arabia fell to zero from 2,722 tonnes and Oman from 2,418 in the latest year; with a zero base no percentage applies, and both ranked among the largest single-year falls.
How did five years net out?
Nepal added 14,371 tonnes and Russia 8,114 over five years, together exceeding the 23,484-tonne net gain, with South Korea adding 758 and Bangladesh adding 346 behind them.
Does food supply show how much people actually ate?
No. The figures measure food available for human consumption in the reference year, not actual intake, so they describe supply rather than the amounts people actually ate.
