Argentina stayed the fourth-largest oilcrops cake equivalent producer while adding 18,098,317 tonnes and Brazil lost 5,633,283 tonnes. The figures below reproduce FAO Crops and Livestock Products records for item Oilcrops; Cake Equivalent, 2020-2024, reporting production quantity in tonnes. The table lists 161 countries; 159 reported a 2024 quantity, and the 2024 annual listed total is 446,501,292 tonnes. The 2024 country list runs from the largest listed quantity to the smallest.

Brazil produced 1.18 times as much as the United States: 117,999,820 tonnes against 99,740,168, while China ranks third with 41,659,652 tonnes, 58,080,516 tonnes behind the United States. The top two hold 48.8 percent of the listed total, with third and fourth at 41,659,652 and 40,939,121 tonnes respectively.

Oilcrops; Cake Equivalent Production by Country in 2024

Brazil was the largest oilcrops cake equivalent producer in the 2024 listed data with 117,999,820 tonnes, followed by the United States with 99,740,168 tonnes and China with 41,659,652 tonnes. Argentina ranked fourth with 40,939,121 tonnes.

Brazil holds 26.4 percent of the listed 2024 total. The top three together hold 58.1 percent of the 446,501,292-tonne listed total.

From 2023 to 2024 the common reporter universe (159 countries with data in both years) moved from 426,875,900 tonnes to 446,501,292 tonnes, a change of 19,625,392 tonnes (4.6 percent). The totals listed for each year were 426,980,621 tonnes (160 reporters) and 446,501,292 tonnes (159 reporters); 1 country reporting in 2023 (104,721 tonnes, Nicaragua) did not report in 2024, while no new reporters joined. Argentina added 18,098,317 tonnes (up 79.2 percent) and the United States 4,898,137 tonnes (up 5.2 percent), while Brazil fell 5,633,283 tonnes (down 4.6 percent).

Between 2020 and 2024, the common reporter universe (158 countries with data in both years) rose from 403,527,337 tonnes to 446,501,269 tonnes, a change of 42,973,932 tonnes (10.6 percent). The totals listed for each year were 403,625,889 tonnes (160 reporters) and 446,501,292 tonnes (159 reporters); 2 reporters present in 2020 (Nicaragua, 97,610 tonnes, and Palestine, 941.93 tonnes) are absent in 2024, while 1 new reporter added 23.09 tonnes (Jordan). Brazil added 18,835,989 tonnes (up 19.0 percent) and Russia 5,491,698 tonnes (up 46.4 percent), while India added 4,362,610 tonnes (up 16.3 percent).

For oilcrops cake equivalent production, quantities below 1,000 tonnes retain two decimals and larger quantities are shown as whole tonnes. The 2024 oilcrops cake equivalent production ranking and shares use 2024 listed quantities. In the oilcrops cake equivalent production data, zero means a reported nil or negligible flow; an empty cell means no quantity was reported. For oilcrops cake equivalent production changes, only countries with quantities in both endpoint years enter the arithmetic. Production quantities are reported to FAO by national statistical sources.
