Soda ash production by country measures how much soda ash each country produces, expressed in thousand metric tons. The figures follow the definitions used in the underlying sources. The statistics are based on USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries 2026. The table below lists 4 countries with 2024 and 2025 data available for all of them. The United States figures are withheld to avoid disclosing company proprietary data. The source reports the World total as rounded and it is not shown in the table.
Türkiye produced the most soda ash in 2025 with 6,000 thousand metric tons. Botswana ranked second with 290, followed by Kenya (270), and Ethiopia (18). Among the 4 countries with available 2025 data, Türkiye accounted for about 91 percent of the reported production values, and Türkiye and Botswana together accounted for about 96 percent. Only Türkiye produced more than 100 thousand metric tons in 2025. Kenya recorded the largest increase, rising from 265 thousand metric tons in 2024 to 270 in 2025 (up 5). Botswana recorded the largest decline, falling from 298 to 290 (down 8), and Türkiye from 6,100 to 6,000 (down 100). Ethiopia held 18 thousand metric tons in both years. Total reported production declined from 6,681 thousand metric tons in 2024 to 6,578 in 2025, a decrease of 103 thousand metric tons, or about 1.5 percent.
