The figures refer to mine production of talc and pyrophyllite, in line with the underlying sources. The statistics combine an Our World in Data series for the earlier years (2019-2024, sparse coverage), built from the USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries and the BGS World Mineral Statistics, with 2024 and 2025 estimates taken directly from the USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries 2026. The table covers 14 countries, all with individual 2025 estimates from the source, which produced a combined 6,110,000 tonnes in 2025; together with the "Other countries" value of 790,000 tonnes, this equals exactly the World total of 6,900,000 tonnes reported in the source. Eight countries appear with 2024-2025 data only, as they are not listed in the earlier Our World in Data series.

India produced the most talc and pyrophyllite in 2025 with 1,500,000 tonnes. China ranked second with 1,300,000, followed by Brazil (570,000), the United States (490,000), South Africa (300,000), South Korea (300,000), Türkiye (300,000), France (300,000), Afghanistan (200,000), and Finland (200,000).

The earlier series has sparse coverage (2019-2024), with most countries showing figures only in specific years. The 2024 and 2025 figures are estimates from the USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries 2026, where all 14 countries in the table are reported individually. Values refer to mine production of talc and pyrophyllite, in tonnes, and 2025 figures are preliminary estimates from the source. The source reports production in thousand-ton units for 2024-2025; values here are expressed in tonnes. The sum of individually reported country estimates equals the reported World total for 2025 when combined with the "Other countries" value. In the table, a zero reflects no production, while an empty cell means that no value was reported.
