Türkiye stayed the third-largest treenuts producer while adding 373,149 tonnes and China added 184,917 tonnes. The figures below reproduce FAO Crops and Livestock Products records for item Treenuts; Total, 2020-2024, reporting production quantity in tonnes. The table lists 124 countries; 123 reported a 2024 quantity, and the 2024 annual listed total is 18,399,506 tonnes. The 2024 country list for total treenuts production runs from the largest listed quantity to the smallest.

China produced 1.02 times as much as the United States: 3,325,947 tonnes against 3,270,610, while Türkiye ranks third with 1,803,245 tonnes, 1,467,365 tonnes behind the United States. The top two hold 35.9 percent of the listed total, with third and fourth at 1,803,245 and 1,125,031 tonnes respectively.

Treenuts; Total Production by Country in 2024

China was the largest treenuts producer in the 2024 listed data with 3,325,947 tonnes, followed by the United States with 3,270,610 tonnes and Türkiye with 1,803,245 tonnes. India ranked fourth with 1,125,031 tonnes.

China holds 18.1 percent of the listed 2024 total. The top three together hold 45.7 percent of the 18,399,506-tonne listed total.

Türkiye Adds 373,149 Tonnes as Treenuts; Total Production Grows 3.3 Percent

Between 2023 and 2024, the common reporter universe (123 countries with data in both years) rose from 17,808,945 tonnes to 18,399,506 tonnes, a change of 590,561 tonnes (3.3 percent). The totals listed for each year were 17,808,945 tonnes (123 reporters) and 18,399,506 tonnes (123 reporters); no country exited and no new reporter joined. Türkiye added 373,149 tonnes (up 26.1 percent) and China 184,917 tonnes (up 5.9 percent), while Ivory Coast fell 281,283 tonnes (down 22.8 percent) and the United States 149,450 tonnes (down 4.4 percent).

United States Falls 477,230 Tonnes as Treenuts; Total Production Grows 7.6 Percent Since 2020

From 2020 to 2024 the common reporter universe (121 countries with data in both years) moved from 17,095,917 tonnes to 18,396,525 tonnes, a change of 1,300,608 tonnes (7.6 percent). The totals listed for each year were 17,100,141 tonnes (122 reporters) and 18,399,506 tonnes (123 reporters); 1 reporter present in 2020 (4,224 tonnes, Palestine) is absent in 2024, while 2 new reporters joined (Sierra Leone, 2,800 tonnes, and Qatar, 180.88 tonnes). The United States fell 477,230 tonnes (down 12.7 percent), while China added 350,457 tonnes (up 11.8 percent) and Türkiye 317,003 tonnes (up 21.3 percent).

Percentage changes use the corresponding value in the earlier year as the base. Yearly totals sum FAO Crops and Livestock Products production quantity (Element 5510) for item Treenuts; Total, 2020-2024. For total treenuts production, quantities below 1,000 tonnes retain two decimals and larger quantities are shown as whole tonnes. The 2024 total treenuts production ranking and shares use 2024 listed quantities. In the total treenuts production data, zero means a reported nil or negligible flow; an empty cell means no quantity was reported. For total treenuts production changes, only countries with quantities in both endpoint years enter the arithmetic. Production quantities are reported to FAO by national statistical sources.
