Triticale Exports by Country
Poland nearly halved its triticale exports in four years and still exports more than five times as much as the runner-up. The figures below aggregate FAO Detailed Trade Matrix bilateral records for item Triticale, 2020-2024, pairing export quantity in tonnes with export value in current US dollars. The table lists 44 countries; 33 reported a 2024 quantity, and the 2024 listed quantity total is 885,654 tonnes. The 2024 country list for triticale exports runs from the largest listed quantity to the smallest.
Poland was the largest triticale exporter in the 2024 listed data with 563,123 tonnes, followed by Germany with 109,948 tonnes and Lithuania with 92,125 tonnes. France ranked fourth with 48,520 tonnes, ahead of the Czech Republic (17,498 tonnes), the Netherlands (10,046 tonnes), Luxembourg (6,779 tonnes) and Canada (5,500 tonnes). Poland also led on export value at 126,179,000 US dollars, followed by Germany (25,774,000) and Lithuania (18,552,000). Poland's 2020-2024 retreat of 500,001 tonnes (down 47.0 percent) exceeds the entire 2024 exports of every other reporter combined, and the leader lost nearly half its volume while still holding 63.6 percent at a 5.12 ratio. Lithuania's 193,065-to-92,125-tonne slide (down 52.3 percent) is the only other six-figure move in that window. The top three hold 86.4 percent of the listed 2024 total, the top five 93.9 percent and the top ten 97.5 percent. Poland, Germany, Lithuania, France, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands keep the trade firmly European; Canada (5,500 tonnes) is the only non-European reporter above 5,000 tonnes. Between 2023 and 2024, the common reporter universe (33 countries with data in both years) fell from 994,209 tonnes to 885,654 tonnes, a change of -108,555 tonnes (-10.9 percent). The totals listed for each year were 994,463 tonnes (38 reporters) and 885,654 tonnes (33 reporters). Lithuania added 62,166 tonnes (up 207.5 percent) and Germany 19,571 tonnes (up 21.7 percent). Poland fell 151,709 tonnes (down 21.2 percent) and France 39,345 tonnes (down 44.8 percent). Between 2020 and 2024, the common reporter universe (32 countries with data in both years) fell from 1,502,592 tonnes to 885,654 tonnes, a change of -616,938 tonnes (-41.1 percent). The totals listed for each year were 1,503,006 tonnes (37 reporters) and 885,654 tonnes (33 reporters); India (0.16 tonnes) is the only 2024 reporter absent in 2020. Germany added 9,778 tonnes (up 9.8 percent). Hungary fell 12,922 tonnes (down 80.4 percent) and Latvia 7,419 tonnes (down 75.6 percent). Concentration this extreme needs exact denominators: all shares here divide by the 2024 listed quantity total of 885,654 tonnes across 33 reporters. Yearly reporter totals sum FAO Detailed Trade Matrix bilateral flows for item Triticale, export quantity and export value, 2020-2024. For triticale exports, quantities below 1,000 tonnes retain two decimals and larger quantities are shown as whole tonnes; values remain full current US dollars without inflation adjustment. In the triticale exports data, zero means a reported nil or negligible flow; an empty cell means no quantity was reported. For triticale exports changes, only countries with quantities in both endpoint years enter the arithmetic. Partner-derived gap filling and food-aid additions can apply, and unreconciled bilateral pairs mean an export entry and its mirror import may disagree.Triticale Exports by Country in 2024

Methodology
Frequently Asked Questions
How can Poland halve its exports and still lead?
Poland fell from 1,063,124 tonnes in 2020 to 563,123 tonnes in 2024 (down 47.0 percent) and still holds 63.6 percent at a 5.12 ratio over Germany. The 500,001-tonne retreat exceeds every other reporter's full 2024 volume, so the gap behind it survived its own decline.
Why did Lithuania rebound in 2024 after years of decline?
Lithuania added 62,166 tonnes between 2023 and 2024 (up 207.5 percent) after falling from 193,065 tonnes in 2020 to 92,125 tonnes in 2024 (down 52.3 percent). Both moves use reported quantities from both endpoint years; the table attributes no causes.
How should Romania's 161.0 percent rise be read?
Romania grew from 1,849 tonnes in 2020 to 4,825 tonnes in 2024, an increase of 2,976 tonnes. For triticale, the percentage is read alongside the absolute gain because the starting quantity is small.
What does this triticale exports series not show?
This dataset does not cover production, stocks, domestic use, or processing; it records reporter-level export quantities and values, so its comparisons stay on the export side.
