Antimony Production by Country
Antimony production by country measures how much antimony each country mines, expressed in tonnes. The figures refer to mine production, in line with the underlying sources. The statistics combine an Our World in Data series for 2020-2023, built from the USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries and the BGS World Mineral Statistics, with 2024 and 2025 estimates taken directly from the USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries 2026. The table below lists 16 countries that record antimony production in the period. 2025 figures are available individually for 15 countries, which produced a combined 110,720 tonnes in 2025, while the World total in the source stands at 110,000 tonnes. The United States is listed in the source with a withheld figure (W), so it is not shown in the table. The 15 countries reported individually in the 2025 USGS data use those USGS figures, while Canada retains its earlier Our World in Data series.
Countries With the Largest Antimony Production in 2025
China produced the most antimony in 2025 with 40,000 tonnes. Russia ranked second with 32,000, followed by Tajikistan (22,000), Bolivia (5,000), and Myanmar (4,500). Türkiye (3,000), Australia (1,300), Kazakhstan (800), Kyrgyzstan (700), and Mexico (600) complete the top ten.
Antimony Production by Country
China alone accounted for about 36 percent of the World total in 2025, and China and Russia together for about 66 percent; the top three countries accounted for about 86 percent. China's output was about 1.8 times that of the third-largest producer. Only three countries produced more than 20,000 tonnes in 2025.
Antimony Production Around the World
In Asia, China (40,000) leads, ahead of Tajikistan (22,000) and Myanmar (4,500). Kazakhstan (800), Kyrgyzstan (700), Pakistan (260), Laos (200), and Vietnam (220) follow; Iran (90) is in the Middle East.
In Europe, Russia (32,000) is the largest producer, ahead of Türkiye (3,000). In the Americas, Bolivia (5,000) leads, ahead of Mexico (600) and Guatemala (50). In Oceania, Australia (1,300) is the only listed producer. No African country is included in this dataset. Canada is listed only with its earlier OWID values (2 tonnes per year in 2020–2022).
Largest Changes in Antimony Production, 2024-2025
Russia recorded the largest decline, falling from 40,000 tonnes in 2024 to 32,000 in 2025 (down 8,000, about 20 percent). Bolivia fell from 5,300 to 5,000 tonnes (down 300).
Australia recorded the largest increase, rising from 1,270 to 1,300 tonnes (up 30), followed by Pakistan, from 250 to 260 (up 10). All other listed countries, including China (40,000), Tajikistan (22,000), Myanmar (4,500), and Türkiye (3,000), held their levels.
The World total fell from 119,000 to 110,000 tonnes (down 9,000, about 7.6 percent), and Russia alone explained about 89 percent of that decline. The 2024 figures in this release are also revised from earlier values: China is revised down from 60,000 to 40,000 tonnes, while Russia is revised up from 13,000 to 40,000, which changes the ranking picture for that year.

Methodology
The 2020-2023 figures come from Our World in Data, which compiles national antimony production figures from the USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries, the USGS Historical Statistics for Mineral and Material Commodities, and the BGS World Mineral Statistics, with major processing by Our World in Data; USGS data is prioritized, with BGS data used to supplement it. The 2024 and 2025 figures are estimates from the USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries 2026 where available; most of the remaining countries keep their Our World in Data series. Values refer to mine production of antimony, in tonnes, and 2025 figures are preliminary estimates from the source. The source lists the United States with a withheld figure (W) in 2025, and Canada with no reported value in the World production table, which is why those cells are empty; Canada appears in the table with earlier OWID values. The sum of the listed countries (110,720 tonnes in 2025) slightly exceeds the World total (110,000 tonnes) because the source rounds its estimates. In the table, a zero reflects no production, while an empty cell means that no value was reported.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which country produces the most antimony in 2025?
China produced the most antimony in 2025 with 40,000 tonnes, followed by Russia (32,000) and Tajikistan (22,000).
How many countries are included in the dataset?
The table lists 16 countries that record antimony mine production in the period. 2025 figures are available individually for 15 of them from the USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries 2026, while Canada keeps its earlier OWID values.
What does this indicator measure?
It measures antimony mine production in tonnes, based on mined rather than refined production, as in the underlying sources.
Which country produces the least antimony among those with 2025 data?
Guatemala recorded the smallest 2025 output at 50 tonnes.
Why is the United States not shown?
The source lists a withheld figure (W) for the United States in 2025 to avoid disclosing company proprietary data; the World total is reported but the U.S. amount is not.
Why were the 2024 figures revised?
The USGS revises its prior-year estimates in each new release. This release revises China downward (60,000 to 40,000 tonnes) and Russia upward (13,000 to 40,000), which is why the 2024 column differs from earlier published values.
