Cement production by country measures how much cement each country produces, expressed in tonnes. The figures refer to cement production (all types), in line with the underlying sources. The statistics combine an Our World in Data series for 2020-2023, built from the USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries and the BGS World Mineral Statistics, with 2024 and 2025 estimates taken directly from the USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries 2026. The table below lists 14 countries, all of which have individual 2025 figures, producing a combined 2,942,000,000 tonnes in 2025; together with the "Other countries" value of 860,000,000 tonnes, this totals 3,802,000,000 tonnes, slightly above the reported World total of 3,800,000,000 tonnes because of source-level rounding and adjustments.
Countries With the Largest Cement Production in 2025
China produced the most cement in 2025 with 1,700,000,000 tonnes. India ranked second with 470,000,000, followed by Vietnam (100,000,000), Türkiye (89,000,000), and the United States (84,000,000). Iran (68,000,000), Brazil (67,000,000), Indonesia (64,000,000), Egypt (64,000,000), and Russia (59,000,000) complete the top ten.

Cement Production Around the World
In Asia, China (1,700,000,000) leads by a wide margin, ahead of India (470,000,000) and Vietnam (100,000,000). Indonesia (64,000,000), Japan (44,000,000), and South Korea (37,000,000) follow.
In the Middle East, Iran (68,000,000) leads, ahead of Saudi Arabia (54,000,000). In Europe, Türkiye (89,000,000) is the largest producer, ahead of Russia (59,000,000).
In the Americas, the United States (84,000,000) leads, ahead of Brazil (67,000,000) and Mexico (42,000,000). In Africa, Egypt (64,000,000) is the largest producer. No producer in Oceania is listed individually in this dataset.
Largest Changes in Cement Production, 2024-2025
India recorded the largest increase, rising from 440,000,000 tonnes in 2024 to 470,000,000 in 2025 (up 30,000,000, about 6.8 percent). Egypt rose from 53,000,000 to 64,000,000 (up 11,000,000, about 21 percent), Vietnam from 91,000,000 to 100,000,000 (up 9,000,000), Türkiye by 4,000,000, Saudi Arabia by 3,000,000, and Brazil by 2,000,000.
China recorded the largest decline, falling from 1,800,000,000 to 1,700,000,000 tonnes (down 100,000,000, about 5.6 percent). Russia fell by 8,000,000, South Korea by 7,000,000, Indonesia by 4,000,000, Iran by 3,000,000, Japan and Mexico each by 2,000,000, and the United States by 1,000,000.
The World total fell from 3,900,000,000 to 3,800,000,000 tonnes (down 100,000,000, about 2.6 percent), and China's decline alone matches that fall; the remaining listed countries moved up in net terms. The source's value for countries not listed individually stayed at 860,000,000 tonnes.
The 2024 figures in this release are revised from earlier values, most notably China (revised down from 1,900,000,000 to 1,800,000,000 tonnes), Vietnam (down from 110,000,000 to 91,000,000), South Korea (down from 52,000,000 to 44,000,000), and Türkiye (up from 82,000,000 to 85,000,000).

The 2020-2023 figures come from Our World in Data, which compiles national cement production figures from the USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries, the USGS Historical Statistics for Mineral and Material Commodities, and the BGS World Mineral Statistics, with major processing by Our World in Data; USGS data is prioritized, with BGS data used to supplement it. The 2024 and 2025 figures are estimates from the USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries 2026, where all 14 countries in the table are reported individually. Values refer to cement production of all types, in tonnes, and 2025 figures are preliminary estimates from the source. The source reports the World total as 3,800,000 thousand tonnes, equivalent to 3,800,000,000 tonnes, and an "Other countries" value of 860,000,000 tonnes; the sum of individually reported country estimates may differ from the reported World total because country-level estimates and the World total are subject to source-level rounding and adjustments. In the table, a zero reflects no production, while an empty cell means that no value was reported.
