Kerosene Production by Country
Kerosene production by country measures kerosene produced for each country, in million barrels per day (Mb/d). This is a historical series: the source reports values for 2009 to 2014 only, with no recent data, so it cannot be compared with current consumption figures. The statistics are based on the U.S. Energy Information Administration's (EIA) International Energy Statistics. The table covers 88 countries, with 88 reported 2014 values. The world total stood at 1.2863 Mb/d in 2014, down from 1.5155 Mb/d in 2013.
Japan (0.2905 Mb/d) was the largest producer in 2014, about 1.5 times Spain (0.1877 Mb/d). India (0.1601 Mb/d), Saudi Arabia (0.1315 Mb/d) and Kuwait (0.1301 Mb/d) completed the top five. Empty means no reported value, not zero.
Kerosene Production by Country
Japan accounted for about 22.6% of the world total in 2014. The top two together held about 37.2%, the top three about 49.6%, the top five about 70.0%, and the top ten about 86.7%.
Change from 2013 to 2014
The world total fell from 1.5155 to 1.2863 Mb/d (-0.2292 Mb/d, about 15.1%). The largest decline in absolute terms was China, collapsing from 0.1934 to 0.0231 Mb/d (-0.1703 Mb/d, about 88.1%). The largest increase among reported pairs was Saudi Arabia, rising from 0.1011 to 0.1315 Mb/d (+0.0304 Mb/d, about 30.0%).
How production changed across major producers
The leader shrank while the chasers grew: Japan (-6.8%) declined even as Spain (+2.5%), India (+1.9%) and Saudi Arabia (+30.0%) all increased. Kuwait (-2.3%) edged down. China's sharp decline accounted for most of the world drop, contributing about 74% of the total decrease.
2009 to 2014 in this series
Reported world values were 1.5491 Mb/d in 2009 and 1.2863 Mb/d in 2014, a decline of about 17.0%. The figures describe a closed historical window and cannot be extended to the present. The figures show the change over time but do not explain its causes.
Kerosene production in context
Because this series ends in 2014, its rankings describe where kerosene was produced in that year — not where production stands today. World production declined substantially over the 2009-2014 period, with the sharpest drop occurring in 2014. This page should be read as an archive of where kerosene was made in 2009-2014, not as a guide to current markets.

Methodology
The statistics are based on the U.S. Energy Information Administration's (EIA) International Energy Statistics. Values represent annual kerosene production in million barrels per day (Mb/d). This is a discontinued historical series covering 2009 to 2014; no values are reported after 2014. Where no value is available, the cell is left empty. A value of 0 indicates that the source reports zero. The sum of the countries listed on this page may not equal the reported world total because the country-level data presented here do not necessarily represent the complete set of values used for the world total. This page covers kerosene production only and does not include consumption or other fuels, which are reported separately in the source.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which countries produced the most kerosene in 2014?
Japan (0.2905 Mb/d), Spain (0.1877 Mb/d) and India (0.1601 Mb/d) reported the largest 2014 values, followed by Saudi Arabia (0.1315 Mb/d) and Kuwait (0.1301 Mb/d).
Why did world production fall so much in 2014?
The world total fell from 1.5155 to 1.2863 Mb/d (-15.1%), mostly because China collapsed from 0.1934 to 0.0231 Mb/d. The page reports the numbers; the source does not explain the causes.
Why does this series end in 2014?
The source reports values for 2009 to 2014 only. No values are reported after 2014, so the table cannot be extended to the present.
Is this comparable with current consumption data?
No. Production and consumption are different measures, and the years do not overlap with current series. This page describes 2009-2014 production only.
