The table lists 193 countries; 190 reported a 2024 quantity, and the 2024 annual listed total is 145,759,438 tonnes. The 2024 country list for poultry meat production runs from the largest listed quantity to the smallest.

China produced 1.18 times as much as the United States: 26,600,000 tonnes against 22,548,165, while Brazil ranks third with 13,871,140 tonnes, 8,677,025 tonnes behind the United States. The top two hold 33.7 percent of the listed total, with third and fourth at 13,871,140 and 5,457,330 tonnes respectively.

Meat; Poultry Production by Country in 2024

China was the largest poultry meat producer in the 2024 listed data with 26,600,000 tonnes, followed by the United States with 22,548,165 tonnes and Brazil with 13,871,140 tonnes. Russia ranked fourth with 5,457,330 tonnes.

China holds 18.2 percent of the listed 2024 total. The top three together hold 43.2 percent of the 145,759,438-tonne listed total.

China Adds 970,000 Tonnes as Meat; Poultry Production Grows 2.8 Percent Among Common Reporters

From 2023 to 2024 the common reporter universe (190 countries with data in both years) moved from 141,797,898 tonnes to 145,759,438 tonnes, a change of 3,961,540 tonnes (2.8 percent). The totals listed for each year were 142,110,690 tonnes (192 reporters) and 145,759,438 tonnes (190 reporters); 2 countries reporting in 2023 (Nicaragua, 163,310 tonnes, and Austria, 149,482 tonnes) did not report in 2024, while no new reporters joined. China added 970,000 tonnes (up 3.8 percent) and Brazil 439,288 tonnes (up 3.3 percent), while Egypt added 430,193 tonnes (up 19.0 percent).

China Adds 2,990,000 Tonnes as Meat; Poultry Production Grows 8.2 Percent Among Common Reporters Since 2020

Between 2020 and 2024, the common reporter universe (189 countries with data in both years) rose from 134,232,940 tonnes to 145,226,498 tonnes, a change of 10,993,558 tonnes (8.2 percent). The totals listed for each year were 134,565,875 tonnes (192 reporters) and 145,759,438 tonnes (190 reporters); 3 reporters present in 2020 (largest: Austria, 142,616 tonnes) are absent in 2024, while 1 new reporter added 532,940 tonnes (Romania). China added 2,990,000 tonnes (up 12.7 percent) and the United States 1,076,768 tonnes (up 5.0 percent), while Russia added 880,597 tonnes (up 19.2 percent).

For poultry meat production, quantities below 1,000 tonnes retain two decimals and larger quantities are shown as whole tonnes. The 2024 poultry meat production ranking and shares use 2024 listed quantities. In the poultry meat production data, zero means a reported nil or negligible flow; an empty cell means no quantity was reported. For poultry meat production changes, only countries with quantities in both endpoint years enter the arithmetic. Production quantities are reported to FAO by national statistical sources.
