Other Petroleum Liquids Production by Country
Other petroleum liquids production by country measures petroleum liquids produced outside the crude oil, NGPL and refinery processing gain categories, in million barrels per day (Mb/d). This is a residual EIA production category for liquids outside those three groups — distinct from the other liquids consumption series, which tracks end use. The statistics are based on the U.S. Energy Information Administration's (EIA) International Energy Statistics. The table covers 91 countries, with 91 reported 2025 values, and includes data from 2020 to 2025. The world total stood at 4.6754 Mb/d in 2025, up from 4.6164 Mb/d in 2024.
The United States (1.5744 Mb/d) led in 2025, followed by China (0.8270 Mb/d) and Brazil (0.7413 Mb/d). Indonesia (0.2350 Mb/d) and India (0.1800 Mb/d) complete the top five. Empty means no reported value, not zero.
Other Petroleum Liquids Production by Country
The United States accounted for about 33.7% of the world total in 2025, producing about 1.9 times as much as China. The top two together held about 51.4%, the top three about 67.2%, the top five about 76.1%, and the top ten about 86.4%.
Change from 2024 to 2025
India recorded the largest increase in percentage terms, rising from 0.1190 to 0.1800 Mb/d (+0.0610 Mb/d, about 51.3%) — though from a small base. In absolute terms the moves were modest across the board: the world total rose from 4.6164 to 4.6754 Mb/d (+0.0590 Mb/d, about 1.3%). Brazil recorded the largest decline among reported pairs, falling from 0.7842 to 0.7413 Mb/d (-0.0429 Mb/d, about 5.5%), while the United States edged down 1.5%.
How production changed across major producers
The top five split: China (+2.2%), Indonesia (+5.4%) and India (+51.3%) grew, while the United States (-1.5%) and Brazil (-5.5%) declined. With the leader and third-placed producer both retreating, the world total still rose because gains in China, Indonesia, India and smaller producers outweighed the losses. No single country dominated the year's movement.
2020 to 2025 in this series
Reported world values were 3.7930 Mb/d in 2020, 3.9637 Mb/d in 2021, 4.1590 Mb/d in 2022, 4.4840 Mb/d in 2023, 4.6164 Mb/d in 2024 and 4.6754 Mb/d in 2025. Production grew every year and ended about 23.3% above the 2020 level. The figures show the change over time but do not explain its causes.
Other petroleum liquids in context
At 4.6754 Mb/d, this is the smallest of the four petroleum production categories used in this group — about one-third of NGPL output and under 6% of crude production. Its makeup differs from the similarly named consumption series, which covers end use of products such as asphalt and lubricants. The ranking therefore reflects liquids assigned to this residual production category rather than the production of a single conventional fuel.

Methodology
The statistics are based on the U.S. Energy Information Administration's (EIA) International Energy Statistics. Values represent annual other liquids production in million barrels per day (Mb/d). Where no value is available, the cell is left empty. A value of 0 indicates that the source reports zero. The sum of the countries listed on this page may not equal the reported world total because the country-level data presented here do not necessarily represent the complete set of values used for the world total. This page covers other liquids production only and does not include crude oil, NGPL, refinery gain or other liquids consumption, which are reported separately in the source.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does "other liquids" mean here?
The EIA's residual production category for liquids outside crude oil, NGPL and refinery gain. It is separate from the other liquids consumption series, which tracks end use.
Which countries produce the most other liquids?
The United States (1.5744 Mb/d), China (0.8270 Mb/d) and Brazil (0.7413 Mb/d) reported the largest 2025 values, followed by Indonesia (0.2350 Mb/d) and India (0.1800 Mb/d).
Why did India jump so much in 2025?
India rose from 0.1190 to 0.1800 Mb/d (+0.0610 Mb/d, about 51.3%), the fastest percentage gain among the top producers — but from a small base. The page reports the numbers; the source does not explain the causes.
Is this the same as other liquids consumption?
No. This page covers production; the consumption series tracks end use of products such as asphalt and lubricants. The two are reported separately.
