Wollastonite production by country measures how much wollastonite each country produces, expressed in metric tons. Wollastonite is a calcium silicate mineral used in ceramics, plastics, paints, and construction materials. The statistics are based on USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries 2026. The table below lists 4 countries with 2024 and 2025 data available for all of them. The United States figures are withheld to avoid disclosing company proprietary data, and the source reports the World total as rounded.
China produced the most wollastonite in 2025 with 600,000 metric tons, five times the output of the second largest producer. India ranked second with 120,000, followed by Mexico (100,000) and Canada (30,000). Among the 4 countries with available 2025 data, China accounted for about 71 percent of the reported production values, and China and India together accounted for about 85 percent. Only China produced more than 200,000 metric tons in 2025. In Asia, China (600,000 metric tons) is the dominant producer, ahead of India (120,000). In the Americas, Mexico (100,000) and Canada (30,000) are the listed producers, while the United States figures are withheld. In Europe and Africa, no producers are listed. Wollastonite production is dominated by China, which alone accounts for 71 percent of the reported total, while the next two producers, India and Mexico, together contribute about 37 percent of China's figure. North American changes offset each other partially: Canada's rise of 10,000 nearly offset Mexico's decline of 12,000, and India's increase of 5,000 accounts for the net change.
