Five countries left over the period, against four arrivals adding nothing. In 2023, China had the largest listed asparagus food supply at 7,066,645 tonnes, representing 89.4 percent of the listed total. The United States ranked second at 220,875 tonnes and Mexico third at 192,492 tonnes. China also had the highest supply per person at 13.61 grams per person per day. From 2019 to 2023, Mexico increased its listed supply from 64,503 to 192,492 tonnes, a gain of 198.4 percent, while Colombia fell 92.7 percent to 872 tonnes. The figures describe food available for human consumption, not actual intake. China's 13.61 grams a day topped the per-person table, ahead of Mexico at 4.06 and Germany at 3.64. Mexico, third by volume, sat at 4.06 grams per person. Switzerland followed at 2.34 grams and Luxembourg at 2.07. Peru stood at 1.90 grams per person per day after adding 4,077 tonnes in the latest year. The United States, second by volume, sat at 1.76 grams per person. This page follows the SUA item labelled Asparagus and counts only its rows; World, regional and aggregate rows are not in the table. The annual listed supply total is the sum of country rows with a reported 2023 value. Food here means supply available for people to eat in the reference year, not amounts eaten. For asparagus, tonnage follows element 5141 and daily grams follow element 665 across 2019 to 2023. A change is measured from the earlier year; none is stated from a zero base. Only countries present in both compared years enter a change. A reported zero is not a blank, and blanks never stand in for zeros. The file holds 156 countries after removing World, regional and aggregate rows; 150 carry 2023 values. The numbers describe food available for human consumption.
