Edible Offal of Sheep; Fresh; Chilled or Frozen Production by Country

India remained the second-largest producer of edible sheep offal in 2024, adding 18,964 tonnes from 2023. The figures below reproduce FAO Crops and Livestock Products records for item Edible offal of sheep; fresh; chilled or frozen, 2020-2024, reporting production quantity in tonnes. The table lists 151 countries; 149 reported a 2024 quantity, and the 2024 annual listed total is 1,913,420 tonnes. The 2024 country list runs from the largest listed quantity to the smallest.

China produced 3.25 times as much as India: 528,105 tonnes against 162,702, while Australia ranks third with 118,685 tonnes, 44,017 tonnes behind India. The top two hold 36.1 percent of the listed total, with third and fourth at 118,685 and 71,690 tonnes respectively.

Edible Offal of Sheep; Fresh; Chilled or Frozen Production by Country in 2024

China was the largest edible sheep offal producer in the 2024 listed data with 528,105 tonnes, followed by India with 162,702 tonnes and Australia with 118,685 tonnes. Pakistan ranked fourth with 71,690 tonnes.

China holds 27.6 percent of the listed 2024 total. The top three together hold 42.3 percent of the 1,913,420-tonne listed total.

In 2024, China was the largest listed producer of edible sheep offal, with 528,105 tonnes, followed by India with 162,702 tonnes and Australia with 118,685 tonnes. The three largest producers accounted for 42.3 percent of the 1,913,420-tonne listed total. From 2023 to 2024, production among countries reporting in both years declined by 17,831 tonnes, or 0.9 percent, while India's production increased by 18,964 tonnes, or 13.2 percent.

India Adds 18,964 Tonnes as Edible Offal of Sheep; Fresh; Chilled or Frozen Production Eases 0.9 Percent

The common reporter universe (149 countries with data in both years) slipped from 1,931,251 tonnes to 1,913,420 tonnes between 2023 and 2024, a change of -17,831 tonnes (-0.9 percent). The totals listed for each year were 1,931,257 tonnes (150 reporters) and 1,913,420 tonnes (149 reporters); 1 country reporting in 2023 (5.91 tonnes, Nicaragua) did not report in 2024, while no new reporters joined. India added 18,964 tonnes (up 13.2 percent), offsetting 106.4 percent of the decline, while China fell 13,780 tonnes (down 2.5 percent) and Mongolia 12,434 tonnes (down 28.2 percent).

Edible Sheep Offal Production Is 8.4 Percent Higher Than in 2020

From 2020 to 2024 the common reporter universe (148 countries with data in both years) moved from 1,765,938 tonnes to 1,913,416 tonnes, a change of 147,478 tonnes (8.4 percent). The totals listed for each year were 1,767,723 tonnes (150 reporters) and 1,913,420 tonnes (148 reporters); 2 reporters present in 2020 (Palestine, 1,779 tonnes, and Nicaragua, 5.85 tonnes) are absent in 2024, while 1 new reporter added 3.9 tonnes (Bhutan). India added 51,485 tonnes (up 46.3 percent) and Australia 34,488 tonnes (up 41.0 percent), while China added 25,945 tonnes (up 5.2 percent).

The 2024 edible sheep offal production ranking and shares use 2024 listed quantities. In the edible sheep offal production data, zero means a reported nil or negligible flow; an empty cell means no quantity was reported. For edible sheep offal production changes, only countries with quantities in both endpoint years enter the arithmetic. Production quantities are reported to FAO by national statistical sources.
