Edible Offals and Liver of Chickens and Guinea Fowl, Fresh, Chilled or Frozen Consumption by Country
The Netherlands recorded the largest listed supply of edible chicken and guinea fowl offals and liver in 2023, at 159,799 tonnes, or about 16.3 percent of the listed total. The Philippines ranked second at 141,050 tonnes, followed by Russia at 103,897 tonnes. The per-person ranking was different: Timor-Leste led at 25.94 grams a day, ahead of the Netherlands at 24.20 grams. The listed 2023 total was 982,787 tonnes, and 83 of the 96 country rows reported a value for that year. These FAO figures describe food available for human consumption, not the amount people actually ate.
The three largest national totals, the Netherlands, the Philippines and Russia, together accounted for about 41.2 percent of the listed 2023 total, while South Africa placed fourth at 79,004 tonnes. Total tonnage shows the scale of the recorded national supply, while grams per person per day gives a population-adjusted comparison, so the two orderings can differ. Russia recorded the largest listed year-on-year decline by volume, losing 45,019 tonnes between 2022 and 2023, down 30.2 percent to 103,897 tonnes. Serbia lost 24,695 tonnes, down 50.9 percent, and Liberia lost 21,204 tonnes, down 66.5 percent. South Africa added 18,968 tonnes, up 31.6 percent, the Philippines added 50,449 tonnes, up 55.7 percent, and the Netherlands added 76,123 tonnes, up 91.0 percent. The 79 countries with a value in both years rose from 890,970 tonnes to 979,094 tonnes, up 88,124 tonnes, or 9.9 percent, with four countries joining the comparison and none leaving it. The figures show the scale of these movements but do not establish their causes. Between 2019 and 2023, the 69 countries with a value in both years rose from 489,709 tonnes to 877,097 tonnes, up 387,388 tonnes, or 79.1 percent. The Netherlands recorded the largest increase in volume, rising from 3,644 tonnes at the start of the period. The Philippines added 104,683 tonnes and Russia added 74,911 tonnes. Ukraine, by contrast, fell from 94,266 tonnes to a reported zero, and Spain shed 61,037 tonnes, down 96.8 percent. Fourteen countries joined this comparison and none left it. These are reported changes, and the dataset does not explain their underlying causes. Timor-Leste recorded the highest listed supply per person in 2023, at 25.94 grams a day, ahead of the Netherlands at 24.20 grams in second and Libya at 19.87 grams in third. Panama placed fourth at 10.71 grams, with Austria at 10.39 grams and Serbia at 9.63 grams. The Netherlands therefore ranked first by total tonnage but second per person, so national supply volume and population-adjusted supply produce different orderings here. The dataset records edible offals and liver of chickens and guinea fowl, fresh, chilled or frozen, available for human consumption, in tonnes and in grams per person per day for 2019-2023. Annual totals sum reporting countries only. Total tonnage and the per-person measure describe different aspects of the same recorded supply, and neither one shows how much people actually ate. Several movements deserve a source check, including Ukraine at a reported zero in 2023 after 94,266 tonnes in 2019, and Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, Laos and Papua New Guinea, which ended 2023 at a reported zero after small 2022 values. A reported zero is a recorded value and a blank cell is missing data, so neither one on its own explains what happened. The source is FAOSTAT Supply Utilization Accounts. Element 5141 reports food supply quantity in tonnes and element 665 reports it in grams per capita per day, for edible offals and liver of chickens and guinea fowl, fresh, chilled or frozen, over 2019-2023. Annual totals sum country records with reported values, excluding regional and aggregate records. Of the 96 country rows, 83 reported a value in 2023, and 73 of those were above zero. Comparisons between two years use only countries with values at both endpoints, and the country count and both totals come from that shared set. Percentage changes use the earlier year as the base and are not calculated when that base is zero. Reported zeros are kept as values, blank cells are treated as missing, and values under 1,000 tonnes are shown to two decimals.

Methodology
Frequently Asked Questions
Which country had the largest listed supply of chicken offals in 2023?
The Netherlands ranked first at 159,799 tonnes, accounting for about 16.3 percent of the listed 2023 total, ahead of the Philippines and Russia in the volume ranking overall.
Which country ranked first per person?
Timor-Leste led at 25.94 grams per person per day, followed by the Netherlands at 24.20 grams and Libya at 19.87 grams in third place in 2023.
What explains the sharp increase in reported supply for the Netherlands?
The listed figure rose from 83,676 tonnes in 2022 to 159,799 tonnes in 2023. The dataset shows the size of the change but not its reason, so the source records deserve a check.
Did Ukraine report any supply in 2023?
The table records zero for Ukraine in 2023, following 94,266 tonnes in 2019. A reported zero is a recorded value and should not on its own be read as proof that no supply activity occurred.
Do these figures measure how much people ate?
No. The FAO food-supply measure describes food available for human consumption, not actual individual intake, so it records national availability rather than intake by each person.
