Edible Offals and Liver of Turkey, Fresh, Chilled or Frozen Consumption by Country
Spain recorded the largest turkey offal food supply in 2023, at 23,852 tonnes, or about 46.1 percent of the listed total. The United Kingdom ranked second at 9,595 tonnes, followed by Belgium at 2,990 tonnes. Trinidad and Tobago ranked first per person at 2.36 grams a day, ahead of Spain at 1.36 grams. The listed 2023 total was 51,720 tonnes, and 51 of the 58 country rows reported a value for that year, 37 of them above zero. These figures measure food available for human consumption, not the amount people actually ate.
Which countries lead turkey offal food supply?
Spain ranked first in total turkey offal food supply in 2023, with 23,852 tonnes, followed by the United Kingdom at 9,595 tonnes and Belgium in third. Trinidad and Tobago ranked first in food supply per person at 2.36 grams a day. These figures measure food available for human consumption, not the amount people actually ate.
France placed fourth by volume at 2,353 tonnes, and the three leading countries together accounted for about 70.5 percent of the listed 2023 total. Belgium lost 2,026 tonnes between 2022 and 2023, down 40.4 percent to 2,990 tonnes. Cambodia went from 1,093 tonnes to a reported 0.03. The Dominican Republic shed 744 tonnes, down 26.0 percent. Czechia added 488 tonnes, up 39.5 percent. The United Kingdom added 723 tonnes, up 8.1 percent. Hungary added 779.15 tonnes, up 174.0 percent. The countries with a value in both years eased from 54,933 tonnes to 51,720 tonnes, down 3,213 tonnes, or 5.8 percent, with no departures and no arrivals. Between 2019 and 2023, the 47 countries with a value in both years fell from 65,642 tonnes to 51,643 tonnes, down 13,999 tonnes, or 21.3 percent. Germany fell from 9,525 tonnes to a reported zero, Ukraine from 5,411 tonnes to zero, and Italy from 2,231 tonnes to zero; these changes are notable in the dataset, but the figures alone do not establish why the reported quantities fell to zero. Spain added 1,201 tonnes, up 5.3 percent, France added 2,353 tonnes from a reported 2019 zero, and the United Kingdom added 3,396 tonnes, up 54.8 percent. Armenia, Congo, Haiti and Vietnam entered the comparison with 2023 values and no 2019 value, while Cuba, Honduras, Liberia, Montenegro and Turkmenistan left it. Trinidad and Tobago recorded 2.36 grams a day in 2023, ahead of Spain at 1.36 grams in second and Eswatini at 0.73 grams in third. Belgium sat fourth at 0.70 grams. Spain, first by volume, placed second per person. Edible offals and liver of turkey, fresh, chilled or frozen, available for human consumption are recorded in tonnes and in grams per person per day for each reporting country over 2019-2023. Annual totals sum reporting countries only, and the listed total is not a world figure that includes regional aggregates. Total tonnage shows the scale of reported food supply, while grams per person per day adjust the figures for population size. Fourteen countries reported zero tonnes in 2023. A reported zero is retained as recorded and is not treated as a blank, which means missing data, so the seven rows without a 2023 value cannot be read as zero supply. The data come from FAOSTAT Supply Utilization Accounts, using element 5141 for food supply quantity in tonnes and element 665 for food supply quantity in grams per capita per day, for edible offals and liver of turkey, fresh, chilled or frozen, over 2019-2023. Of the 58 country rows, 51 reported a value in 2023 and 37 of those were above zero. Comparisons between two years use only countries with values at both endpoints, which gives the same set for 2022-2023 and 47 countries for 2019-2023, and the country count and both totals come from that shared set. Percentage changes use the earlier year's value as the base and are not calculated when that base is zero. Reported zeros are kept as values, blank cells are treated as missing data, and values under 1,000 tonnes are shown to two decimal places.

Methodology
Frequently Asked Questions
Who trails Trinidad and Tobago per person?
Trinidad and Tobago led per person in 2023, ahead of Spain at 1.36 grams and Eswatini at 0.73 grams, with Belgium fourth at 0.70 grams overall.
What share of the listed total came from Spain?
Spain accounted for about 46.1 percent of the 2023 listed total of 51,720 tonnes, the largest single share of any reporting country in that year.
How far did Belgium fall lately?
Belgium lost 2,026 tonnes, down 40.4 percent in the latest year to 2,990 tonnes, the largest decline by tonnage among the reporting countries in the file.
Do these figures show how much people actually ate?
No. The figures measure food available for human consumption, not actual individual intake, so they describe availability rather than what each person ate in each country.
Who grew most over five years?
The United Kingdom added 3,396 tonnes between 2019 and 2023, up 54.8 percent, the largest five-year gain by tonnage in the common set of countries.
