Edible Offals and Liver of Geese, Fresh, Chilled or Frozen Consumption by Country
Israel recorded the highest reported food supply of fresh, chilled or frozen goose offals and liver in 2023, at 548.58 tonnes. Macau ranked second with 361.19 tonnes, followed by Germany at 337.34 tonnes. On a per-person basis, Macau led at 1.39 grams a day, well ahead of Israel at 0.16 grams. The listed 2023 total was 2,212 tonnes, and 56 of the 66 country rows reported a value for that year, 42 of them above zero. Israel accounted for 24.8 percent of that total, while the three leading countries together represented 56.4 percent. These figures measure food available for human consumption, not the amount actually eaten.
Hungary placed fourth by volume at 164.94 tonnes. Israel accounted for 24.8 percent of the listed total, while the three leading countries together represented 56.4 percent of it. Hungary lost 1,047 tonnes between 2022 and 2023, down 86.4 percent to 164.94 tonnes. Israel lost 194.73 tonnes, down 26.2 percent, and Ireland shed 21.26 tonnes, down 99.5 percent. Austria added 29.32 tonnes, up 22.5 percent, Angola added 55.49 tonnes from a reported zero, and Macau added 261.13 tonnes, up 261.0 percent. The 52 countries with a value in both years fell from 3,067 tonnes to 2,167 tonnes, down 900 tonnes, or 29.3 percent, with Belize, Chile, New Zealand and Sierra Leone joining and none leaving. Between 2019 and 2023, the 43 countries with a value in both years fell from 5,186 tonnes to 2,106 tonnes, down 3,080 tonnes, or 59.4 percent. Israel recorded the largest decline, losing 1,638 tonnes, down 74.9 percent. Hungary shed 651.04 tonnes, down 79.8 percent, and Austria gave up 471.12 tonnes, down 74.7 percent. The United Kingdom added 12.02 tonnes from a reported zero, Czechia added 45.78 tonnes, up 61.9 percent, and Macau added 346.63 tonnes. Thirteen countries entered the comparison with 2023 values and no 2019 value, while eight left it. Macau recorded 1.39 grams a day in 2023, ahead of Israel at 0.16 grams in second and Belize at 0.11 grams in third. Hungary and Austria followed at 0.05 grams. Edible offals and liver of geese, fresh, chilled or frozen, available for human consumption are recorded in tonnes and in grams per person per day for each reporting country over 2019-2023. Annual totals sum reporting countries only, and the listed total is not a world figure that includes regional aggregates. Total tonnage shows the scale of reported food supply, while grams per person per day adjust the figures for population size. Poland's reported supply fell from 7,454 tonnes in 2021 to zero in 2022 and remained at zero in 2023, and that unusually large change should be checked against the original FAOSTAT series before it is interpreted as a real change in food supply. Smaller reported values for Cameroon, Guinea-Bissau, Hong Kong, Kenya, Malta and Montenegro also fell to zero between 2022 and 2023. A reported zero is a recorded value and a blank cell is missing data. The data come from FAOSTAT Supply Utilization Accounts, using element 5141 for food supply quantity in tonnes and element 665 for food supply quantity in grams per capita per day, for edible offals and liver of geese, fresh, chilled or frozen, over 2019-2023. Of the 66 country rows, 56 reported a value in 2023 and 42 of those were above zero. Comparisons between two years use only countries with values at both endpoints, which gives 52 countries for 2022-2023 and 43 for 2019-2023, and the country count and both totals come from that shared set. Percentage changes use the earlier year's value as the base and are not calculated when that base is zero. Reported zeros are kept as values, blank cells are treated as missing data, and values under 1,000 tonnes are shown to two decimal places.

Methodology
Frequently Asked Questions
Which country had the highest goose offal food supply in 2023?
Israel ranked first with 548.58 tonnes, followed by Macau with 361.19 tonnes and Germany with 337.34 tonnes in the 2023 figures reported that year overall.
Where was goose offal supply highest per person?
Macau led at 1.39 grams per person per day in 2023, ahead of Israel at 0.16 grams and Belize at 0.11 grams overall in the table.
How much did goose offal supply decline over five years?
Across the 43 countries reporting values in both 2019 and 2023, the combined quantity fell from 5,186 to 2,106 tonnes, a decline of about 59.4 percent.
Does food supply represent the amount people ate?
No. FAO food-supply data measure food available for human consumption, not actual dietary intake, so they describe availability rather than what each person ate in each country.
Why should Poland's figures be checked?
Poland's reported supply fell from 7,454 tonnes in 2021 to zero in 2022 and 2023, and the original FAOSTAT data should be checked before drawing conclusions about the cause.
