Argentina stayed the seventh-largest oilcrops oil equivalent producer while adding 3,907,963 tonnes and Indonesia added 625,793 tonnes. The figures below reproduce FAO Crops and Livestock Products records for item Oilcrops; Oil Equivalent, 2020-2024, reporting production quantity in tonnes. The table lists 163 countries; 160 reported a 2024 quantity, and the 2024 annual listed total is 249,204,962 tonnes. The 2024 country list for oilcrops oil equivalent production runs from the largest listed quantity to the smallest.

Indonesia produced 1.94 times as much as Brazil: 55,455,166 tonnes against 28,579,183, while the United States ranks third with 24,376,262 tonnes, 4,202,921 tonnes behind Brazil. The top two hold 33.7 percent of the listed total, with third and fourth at 24,376,262 and 21,971,776 tonnes respectively.

Oilcrops; Oil Equivalent Production by Country in 2024

Indonesia was the largest oilcrops oil equivalent producer in the 2024 listed data with 55,455,166 tonnes, followed by Brazil with 28,579,183 tonnes and the United States with 24,376,262 tonnes. Malaysia ranked fourth with 21,971,776 tonnes.

Indonesia holds 22.3 percent of the listed 2024 total. The top three together hold 43.5 percent of the 249,204,962-tonne listed total.

Argentina Adds 3,907,963 Tonnes as Oilcrops; Oil Equivalent Production Grows 2.4 Percent Among Common Reporters

Between 2023 and 2024, the common reporter universe (160 countries with data in both years) rose from 243,375,828 tonnes to 249,204,962 tonnes, a change of 5,829,134 tonnes (2.4 percent). The totals listed for each year were 243,542,408 tonnes (161 reporters) and 249,204,962 tonnes (160 reporters); 1 country reporting in 2023 (166,580 tonnes, Nicaragua) did not report in 2024, while no new reporters joined. Argentina added 3,907,963 tonnes (up 55.5 percent) and Malaysia 1,144,134 tonnes (up 5.5 percent), while Brazil fell 1,133,159 tonnes (down 3.8 percent) and Ukraine 637,122 tonnes (down 8.2 percent).

Brazil Adds 4,699,473 Tonnes as Oilcrops; Oil Equivalent Production Grows 9.1 Percent Among Common Reporters Since 2020

From 2020 to 2024 the common reporter universe (160 countries with data in both years) moved from 228,450,492 tonnes to 249,204,962 tonnes, a change of 20,754,470 tonnes (9.1 percent). The totals listed for each year were 228,632,886 tonnes (163 reporters) and 249,204,962 tonnes (160 reporters); 3 reporters present in 2020 (largest: Nicaragua, 164,697 tonnes) are absent in 2024, while no new reporters joined. Brazil added 4,699,473 tonnes (up 19.7 percent) and Indonesia 3,589,901 tonnes (up 6.9 percent), while Russia added 3,029,127 tonnes (up 40.0 percent).

For oilcrops oil equivalent production, quantities below 1,000 tonnes retain two decimals and larger quantities are shown as whole tonnes. The 2024 oilcrops oil equivalent production ranking and shares use 2024 listed quantities. In the oilcrops oil equivalent production data, zero means a reported nil or negligible flow; an empty cell means no quantity was reported. For oilcrops oil equivalent production changes, only countries with quantities in both endpoint years enter the arithmetic. Production quantities are reported to FAO by national statistical sources.
