Raspberries Consumption by Country
Raspberries have a tight fight at the top: the United States held 252,402 tonnes, 1.17 times Russia's 216,192. Mexico stood third at 174,465 tonnes, while Serbia had the highest reported food supply per person at 22.02 grams per day. The 2023 listed consumption total was 1,086,159 tonnes across 108 countries, 102 with values, covering food available for human consumption from FAO Supply Utilization Accounts for 2019-2023.
The United States accounted for 23.2 percent of the listed 2023 total, with Russia close behind at 216,192 tonnes. Serbia had the highest reported supply per person. Across matched countries, the total fell 2.3 percent from 2022 to 2023 but rose 15.4 percent from 2019 to 2023.
In 2023, the United States had the largest reported food supply of raspberries at 252,402 tonnes, followed by Russia at 216,192 tonnes and Mexico at 174,465 tonnes. The United States accounted for 23.2 percent of the listed total of 1,086,159 tonnes across 102 countries with reported values. Serbia had the highest reported supply per person at 22.02 grams per day, ahead of Bosnia and Herzegovina at 9.46 grams and Moldova at 7.34 grams. Across the 99 countries with data in both 2022 and 2023, the total fell 2.3 percent, while the 86 countries with data in both 2019 and 2023 recorded a 15.4 percent increase. These figures represent food available for human consumption rather than actual intake. Poland placed fourth at 84,820 tonnes, with Serbia fifth at 54,431 and Canada sixth at 47,876. The United Kingdom, Ukraine, Germany and France closed the top ten between 19,263 and 39,818 tonnes. The top three controlled 59.2 percent of the listed consumption total, and the top five 72.0 percent. The United States lost 15,810 tonnes between 2022 and 2023, sliding 5.9 percent to 252,402 tonnes. Serbia lost 11,678 tonnes, down 17.7 percent. Germany shed 6,388 tonnes, down 16.5 percent. Poland gave up 5,609 tonnes, down 6.2 percent, and Canada 4,796 tonnes, down 9.1 percent. Mexico added 10,761 tonnes, up 6.6 percent. Morocco added 7,234 tonnes from 79 tonnes in 2022, and Russia 6,069 tonnes, up 2.9 percent. The 99 countries present in both years eased from 1,112,004 tonnes to 1,085,889 tonnes, down 26,115 tonnes, or 2.3 percent, with three arrivals carrying 271 tonnes. Between 2019 and 2023, the 86 countries present in both years advanced from 940,884 tonnes to 1,085,790 tonnes, up 144,906 tonnes, or 15.4 percent. Mexico added 56,408 tonnes, up 47.8 percent, accounting for 38.9 percent of the net gain. Russia added 42,698 tonnes, up 24.6 percent, and the United States 42,206 tonnes, up 20.1 percent. Poland added 19,347 tonnes, up 29.5 percent, and Morocco 7,313 tonnes from a zero base. Bosnia and Herzegovina shed 6,865 tonnes, down 38.4 percent. Germany lost 6,566 tonnes, down 16.9 percent, and Serbia 6,150 tonnes, down 10.2 percent. Five countries left with 4 tonnes, while 16 arrived with 369. Serbia's 22.02 grams a day more than doubled Bosnia and Herzegovina's 9.46 in second. Moldova sat third at 7.34 grams, with the Bahamas at 6.35 and Poland at 6.00. Russia recorded 4.07 grams and Mexico 3.68. The United States, first by volume, did not enter the per-person top ten. Serbia therefore stands out for its relatively modest total volume but exceptionally high reported supply per person. Raspberries for human consumption appear here in tonnes and in daily grams per person for each reporting country from 2019 to 2023. Annual totals sum reporting countries only, so the 16 arrivals nudge the later years upward. Tonnage shows the total reported food supply, while the per-person measure adjusts that supply for population size. Morocco's latest-year increase of more than 9,000 percent reflects a rise from just 78.76 tonnes in 2022 to 7,313 tonnes in 2023, so the percentage is driven by a very small starting value. FAO Supply Utilization Accounts assign element 5141 to tonnage for human consumption and element 665 to daily grams per person, both carried here for raspberries across 2019-2023. Rates divide by the earlier year, with zero bases earning no rate. The universe holds 108 countries after aggregates depart, 102 with 2023 values. Only countries valued at both endpoints join a comparison. The 2023 listed total of 1,086,159 tonnes sums the countries reporting that year. Zeros report, blanks miss, and all sub-1,000 figures show two decimals.Key Findings

Methodology
Frequently Asked Questions
Which countries followed Serbia in per-person supply?
Bosnia and Herzegovina followed Serbia at 9.46 grams per person per day, with Moldova third at 7.34 grams and the Bahamas next at 6.35 grams.
How close were the United States and Russia?
Very close: the United States alone held 23.2 percent of the listed consumption total, only 1.17 times Russia, and the top three 59.2 percent overall.
How much did the United States decline in 2023?
The United States lost 15,810 tonnes, down 5.9 percent in the latest year, yet stayed clearly first as Serbia lost 11,678 tonnes right behind it.
Is this what people actually ate?
No. The figures measure food available for human consumption, not the amount actually eaten. They describe supply in the reference year rather than the amounts people consumed.
Did Mexico drive five-year growth?
Yes, clearly. Mexico added 56,408 tonnes, up 47.8 percent, accounting for 38.9 percent of the net 144,906-tonne five-year gain recorded between 2019 and 2023 overall.
