About Lebanon

Lebanon has ancient Phoenician heritage and served as Mediterranean trading hub historically. The country has 18 religious communities and complex confessional political system. Lebanese culture blends Arab, French, and ancient influences uniquely.

The nation has mountain and coastal geography with Mediterranean climate. Lebanon has parliamentary democracy with confessional representation challenges. The country faces economic difficulties but maintains cultural vibrancy.

Beirut is cosmopolitan capital known as "Paris of Middle East" historically. Lebanon has excellent educational institutions and diaspora worldwide. The nation has cedar trees as national symbol and natural heritage.

Traditional Lebanese culture includes folk music, dance, and craft traditions. The country has Arabic and French as official languages. Lebanese cuisine features mezze, hummus, and Mediterranean-Middle Eastern fusion globally popular.

The population is 5.5 million with significant emigration and diaspora communities. Lebanon offers cultural sophistication, culinary excellence, and historical significance despite contemporary challenges.
