About Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bosnia and Herzegovina has three official languages: Bosnian, Croatian, and Serbian. The country hosted 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo. Mostar's Old Bridge is UNESCO World Heritage Site rebuilt after war destruction.
The nation has complex federal structure with two main entities and one district. Bosnia produces excellent coffee with traditional preparation methods. The country has mountainous terrain with continental and Mediterranean climates.
Sarajevo is known as "Jerusalem of Europe" for its religious diversity. Bosnia has rich Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian architectural heritage. The nation exports metals, textiles, and agricultural products.
Traditional Bosnian culture includes sevdah music, traditional crafts, and hospitality customs. The country has recovering economy after 1990s conflict. Bosnia has excellent natural springs and spa tourism.
The population is 3.3 million with Bosniaks, Serbs, and Croats as main ethnic groups. Bosnia offers historic cities, mountain landscapes, and cultural diversity reflecting its position between East and West.
