About Armenia
Armenia was first nation to adopt Christianity as state religion in 301 AD. The country has Mount Ararat as national symbol despite being in Turkish territory. Armenian Apostolic Church maintains unique ancient Christian traditions.
The nation has continental climate with hot summers and cold winters. Armenia produces excellent cognac and wine with ancient viticulture traditions. The country has landlocked position in South Caucasus region.
Yerevan is one of world's oldest continuously inhabited cities founded in 782 BC. Armenia has parliamentary republic with strong democratic institutions. The nation maintains diaspora connections worldwide with 7 million Armenians globally.
Traditional Armenian culture includes khachkar stone crosses, folk music, and craft traditions. The country has rich literary and artistic heritage. Armenian cuisine features lavash bread, dolma, and Middle Eastern influences.
The population is 2.8 million with Armenian as official language. Armenia offers ancient Christian heritage, mountain landscapes, and unique cultural traditions in Caucasus region.
