About Belarus
Belarus is Europe's last dictatorship with Alexander Lukashenko ruling since 1994. The country has excellent IT sector producing popular apps and software. Belarusian forests cover 40% of territory including ancient Belovezhskaya Pushcha.
The nation has two official languages: Belarusian and Russian. Belarus exports potash, machinery, and agricultural products. The country has well-developed heavy industry and manufacturing.
Minsk is known for its Soviet-era architecture and wide boulevards. Belarus has excellent education system with 99% literacy rate. The nation maintains close ties with Russia in economic and political matters.
Traditional Belarusian culture includes folk music, embroidery, and rural festivals. The country has continental climate with cold winters and warm summers. Belarus has rich wildlife including European bison.
The population is 9.4 million with ethnic Belarusians forming 84% majority. Belarus offers pristine nature, historic castles, and unique cultural heritage despite political challenges.
