About Croatia

Croatia has 1,244 islands along Adriatic coast with crystal-clear waters. The country invented the necktie (cravat) worn by Croatian soldiers. Plitvice Lakes National Park has 16 terraced lakes with stunning waterfalls.

The nation has 10 UNESCO World Heritage Sites including Dubrovnik's Old Town. Croatia produces excellent wine and olive oil in Mediterranean regions. The country gained independence in 1991 and joined EU in 2013.

Zagreb has charming medieval upper town and vibrant cultural scene. Croatia has continental climate inland and Mediterranean along coast. The nation has excellent football tradition reaching 2018 World Cup final.

Traditional Croatian culture includes klapa singing, traditional dances, and coastal festivals. The country has growing tourism industry with over 20 million visitors annually. Croatia has excellent seafood cuisine and island-hopping opportunities.

The population is 3.9 million with Croatian as official language. Croatia offers stunning coastline, historic cities, and national parks making it premier Mediterranean tourism destination.
