About Iraq

Iraq is cradle of civilization with Mesopotamian heritage between Tigris and Euphrates rivers. The country has enormous oil reserves and ancient Babylonian and Assyrian history. Iraqi culture reflects Arab, Kurdish, and ancient Mesopotamian influences.

The nation has desert and river valley geography with continental climate. Iraq has federal parliamentary republic with complex sectarian dynamics. The country faces reconstruction challenges but maintains cultural resilience.

Baghdad is historic capital with Abbasid Caliphate heritage and modern challenges. Iraq has significant archaeological sites including Babylon and Ur. The nation has diverse religious and ethnic communities.

Traditional Iraqi culture includes Arabic literature, music, and craft traditions. The country has Arabic and Kurdish as official languages. Iraqi cuisine features rice dishes, grilled meats, and Middle Eastern flavors.

The population is 44 million with Arab majority and Kurdish minority. Iraq offers ancient heritage, oil wealth, and cultural significance despite modern challenges in historic Mesopotamian region.
