Latvia has stunning Art Nouveau architecture in Riga with over 800 buildings from early 1900s. The country has 500 km of Baltic Sea coastline with white sand beaches. Latvian is world's oldest continuously spoken Indo-European language.
The nation has dense forests covering 52% of territory with excellent biodiversity. Latvia produces high-quality amber from Baltic Sea shores. The country regained independence in 1991 and joined EU in 2004.
