About Türkiye

Turkey spans two continents with 97% in Asia and 3% in Europe. About 12% of Turkey's population lives on the European side, primarily in Istanbul. The country produces 70% of the world's hazelnuts and ranks among top producers of apricots and figs.

Turkey has emerged as a major defense industry player, exporting military equipment globally. The country manufactures drones, armored vehicles, and naval systems. Turkish defense exports have grown significantly in recent years.

Istanbul is the only city located on two continents simultaneously. The Bosphorus strait connects Europe and Asia through the city. Turkey has coastlines on three seas: Mediterranean, Aegean, and Black Sea.

The country served as capital for Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman empires. Turkey has 18 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Turkish is spoken by over 80 million people worldwide.

Turkey's population is significantly younger than European averages. The nation has 81 provinces with diverse climate zones from Mediterranean to continental. Turkey's strategic location makes it a bridge between European, Asian, and Middle Eastern markets.
